The Rip Curl Pro Search, Somewhere in Puerto Rico has been possibly the most memorable event in history. Australian surfer Stephanie Gilmore won the women's event early in the week and clinched her 4th Consecutive World Title.
Then the surfing world was rocked with the news that 3 times world champion Andy Irons had passed away on his way home from the event due to illness. The contest was placed on hold the following day in honour of Andy. The World Tour family paddled out at the contest site to pay their respects to Andy and pray for his family.
Two days later the contest was on and Kelly Slater won his 10th World Title after defeating Adriano De Souza in the quarter finals. Kelly then went on to win the event over Australian surfer Bede Durbidge in the nail biting final.
Check out the video of the final below and pictures from the day.
